Abstract


ABSTRACT

This study aims to improve the activity and learning outcomes of students in learning physics. Increasing activity and learning outcomes of students is done by the application of cooperative learning model NHT. Research is action research conducted two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, action, observation and reflection. Based on the data analysis of the learners, the increase of activity from cycle I to cycle II can be concluded that the learners’ attention has increased when the teacher was explaining the lesson equal to 21.%, while the activity increasing highest is that the learners answer the questions of teacher on discussion class that is equal to 31.4 % . It can be concluded that the cooperative learning model NHT (Numbered Heads Together) is very appropriately used to improve the learners' learning activities. Based on data analysis, the increase in test results of students from the first cycle to the second cycle was obtained the average grades at 71.7 at UH 1 and 82.4 at UH 2. There is an increase of 10.7. The average grade of both UH is 77.1. When compared with an average of UH before the study done was 63,5 with the result of average grades of UH at 77.1 after the study has been done . therefore, there is an increase at 13.6 . So cooperative learning model NHT (Numbered Heads Together) is appropriate to be applied in improving student learning outcomes.
