Abstract


ABSTRACT

Learning physics in high school, according to the curriculum in 2013 aimed at the achievement of student competence, which involves mastery of subject content(knowledge) and the cognitive processes of students. This study aimed to describe the proportion of the percentage of student competence achievement in physics in terms of four dimensions of knowledge and at six-level cognitive processes such as those developed by Anderson & Krathwohl (2001). This includes research into evaluative descriptive study conducted in 4 pieces high schools in the city of Padang who implement the curriculum of 2013. The study was conducted for 2 months at March-April 2015, Review of student achievement of competence, have been content physics lessons have been learned in class X students , The research instrument is based on six levels of cognitive processes, and the fourth dimension of knowledge which amounts to 24 items. The competency test done to 12 students, (each 3 school students belonging to the category rank 1, 2, and 3 in class X. The study concluded that the quality of student competence achievement in physics in high schools in the city of Padang is still low, in terms of the complexity of the content, and the level of cognitive processes subjects of physics, which is shown by the majority is still at the level of 1, 2, and 3, while for level 4, 5, and 6 are still very few and tend not to show up. Results of the study recommended that needs to be developed model of learning with oriented on the complexity of the content and level of cognitive processes to improve the competence of students in physics lessons in high schools in Padang city.
