Abstract


ABSTRACT

Nagari Limau Gadang, geographically located adjacent to the Kerinci National Park (TNKS). Villages have a population of about 2500 people composed of 500 families (KK). Around 250 families have cultivated lands in TNKS. Activities making fields are cut down and burn forests. Economic activity area residents pressing TNKS very high, because TNKS forests where they make a living. Population can survive the economic activities outside TNKS if we are able to create economic enterprises choices, such as tilapia fish farming. Tilapia fish farming could be a model of economic activity option for reducing dependence on biological resources TNKS population. The purpose of this study is that the population no longer make a living in the forest TNKS. To achieve the goal of action research. Sample population who earn a living in the woods TNKS been as many as 40 families, then divided into 5 groups. The data were taken in the form of frequent visits to TNKS sample. Economic activity data sample in the first year of the study compared with the data in the study of economic activity in the second sample. The second study year lasts about 6 months. To see the similarities or differences between the mean results of economic activity used formula T-Test statistics. Is expected in the second sample activities are no longer engage in economic activities in the region TNKS. Of aquaculture for 6 months produced: (1) fingerlings 25,000, (2) an enlargement and nursery 5 units. The mean percentage rate to the sample member TNKS visit for 6 months 86%.
