Abstract


ABSTRACT There has been done Classroom Action Research (CAR) by applying 5E Learning Cycle Model in improving the psychomotor competence of learners in learning physics in class IX.2 SMP Negeri 2 Candung. This research is motivated by problems that arise during the learning process that is teacher centered learning.This study aims to improve the competence of psychomotor of learners in learning physics. Achievement of that goal was accomplished through 5E Learning Cycle Model. This model encourages students to learn gradually and constructively through the stages of engagement, exploration, explanation, elaboration, and evaluation. The research instrument consisted of the observation sheet and test learning outcomes of students. The results showed an increase in the competence of psychomotor of learners. Psychomotor competencies increased from an average value of 69.3 in cycle I, 83.2 to 93.1 in cycle II and cycle III. It can be concluded that the application of learning model of 5E Learning Cycle can improve the competence of psychomotor of learners in the learning of Physics. Based on the above conclusion is suggested to teachers or other researchers to try to use the 5E Learning Cycle model to improve the competency of students in learning physics. Implementation of 5E Learning Cycle model requires a longer time than the application of traditional learning methods, so the researchers / teachers should prepare themselves better.
