Abstract


ABSTRACT The aims of the study are; 1) to determine whether there the effect of the use of presentation task at the beginning of the class on students’ achievement, and 2) to determine whether there the difference of students’ achievement between students who were given the presentation task at the beginning of the class and students who given conventional treatment. The design of this study is, “Randomized Control Group Pretest-Posttest Design”. The population of this study was Year 7 students of SMPN 13 Padang. Data in this study were the scores of the pre-test and post-test. The data were analyzed using t-test. The results of this study are; 1) the presentation task at the beginning of the class gave the effect (significant influence) on students’ achievement, and 2) students who were given the presentation task at the beginning of the class got mathematics achievement better than students who were given conventional treatment.
