Abstract


Distribution function of a gas is important to determine physical quantities of thermodynamics and characteristics of a material. Objectives of this research is to investigate the characteristic function of velocity, speed, momentum, and energy of molecular gases. This research can be categorized into theoretical research. To find the characteristic function of these physical quantities are used Matlab software. There are four main results of research. First, the greater mass number of molecule and lower temperature of molecule produce the peak of velocity distribution function higher and shaper. Second, the lower temperature and the smaller mass number of gas produce distribution speed function of molecule higher and shaper. Third, the lower temperature and the smaller of mass number of a molecular produce the peak of distribution momentum function higher and shaper. Finally,  the lower temperature of gas produce the peak of distribution energy function higher and shaper.
