PEMBELAJARAN IKATAN KIMIA KELAS X SMA MENGGUNAKAN MEDIA BERBASIS KOMPUTER

Abstract


The background of this research was due to low student learning result and the rare use of computer-based media in learning chemistry, especially chemical bonds. Computer-based media are able to visualize the learning of chemical bonds that are abstract to concrete, colorfull, animation, nice symbol, perfect font size, and the sound interesting. Those make media is easy to explain the facts of chemical bonds. The purpose of the research is to reveal the influence of learning to use computer-based media on student learning result on the subject of chemical bonding in SMA Laboratory Development of UNP. The type of research is experimental research with Randomized Control-Group Posttest Only Design. The population was student at ten grade in SMA Laboratory Development of UNP in year 2011/2012. The purposive sampling technique chosen was X.A as a experimental class and X.B as a control class. The research instrument was a form of multiple choice tests. Analysis of cognitive learning result data, average grade of experiments class is 72.00 and that for control is 65.73. Hypothesis testing used was two sample t test for normally distributed and had homogeneous variance, where the ttable = 3.238 and tcount = 1.67, so H0 is rejected and H1 accepted. So it can be concluded that the learning result of students with learning using computer-based media was significantly higher than using conventional methods of learning.
