Abstract


This study aims to identify and analyze 1) Effect of the health index of the level of poverty in West Sumatra 2) The effect of education on poverty index in West Sumatra 3) Effect of per capita consumption levels in West Sumatra 4) Effect together health index, education index and per capita consumption to the level of poverty of West Sumatra. Types of data used pooling or panel. Inductive analysis include 1) Hausman Test 2) Chow-Test 3) Regression Model Analysis Panel, choose the REM results. To see the significance of the effect of independent variables to the dependent variable used 1) t test and 2) Test F with a real level of 5%. The results of this study were 1) the health index and significant negative effect on poverty of West Sumatra 2) education index and a significant negative effect on poverty of West Sumatra 3) per capita consumption and significant negative effect on poverty of West Sumatra. Contribution together health index, education index and per capita consumption significantly influence the level of poverty of West Sumatra is at 16.78 percent. Based on these results it is recommended to local governments to be able to allocate their income on health, education and maintaining purchasing power. Government investment is expected to be felt by the middle and lower order to avoid the problem of poverty.
