ABSTRACT

Based on the problem to be found at SLBN 1 Kubung in VIII class with background problem students to encounter in answering the question about comprehension animals correctly. This type of research is classroom action research, that is done in collaborating with teacher’s class. The subjects are two mild mental retardation children. The data is obtained through observation test then analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. This research to be carried out in two cycles. Each activity begins with planning, implementation, analysis and reflection. Students initial ability are R 20 and S 40. At the end of cycle 1 students ability are R 38 and S 40, and in cycle 2 students ability increase to R 71 and S 80. Can be concluded that media power point can improve comprehension animal skill in answering questions students.

Berdasarkan permasalahan yang ditemukan di SLB N 01 Kubung pada kelas VIII yang dilatarbelakangi oleh siswa mengalami masalah dalam menjawab soal tentang pemahaman hewan dengan benar. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian tindakan kelas, yang dilakukan dalam bentuk kolaborasi dengan guru kelas. Subjek peneliti yaitu dua orang anak tunagrahita ringan. Dalam penelitian ini data yang diperoleh melalui observasi, test kemudian dianalisis secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Kegiatan penelitian dilakukan sebanyak dua siklus. Masing-masing kegiatan diawali dengan kegiatan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, analisis dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian sebelum diberikan tindakan menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan awal siswa tunagrahita ringan dalam pemahaman tentang hewan yaitu: R 20 dan S 40. Pada akhir siklus I kemampuan siswa menjadi R 38 dan S 43. Pada siklus II kemampuan siswa meningkat menjadi R 71 dan S 80. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa media power point dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman hewan.
