Abstract


The research of improving student learning activity by using STAD cooperative learning model with basic problem solving in plant physiology subject has been conducted. The goal of this research is to know whether student learning activity can be improved by using STAD cooperative learning model with basic problem solving in plant physiology subject. We used research design of class action research in spiral model. One spiral (cycle) consisted of 3 steps according lesson study, these are : plan, do and see. This research used 4 cycles, first and second, STAD with fixed concept map that is used by each individual with ubdetermined source, third and fouth, STAD with fixed concept map and also completed by hand-out and tuition from lecturer. This research showed improved stu dent learning activity both in first, third, and fouth cycles. Research also showed improved learning result all cycles.
