Abstract


This research is motivated by the authors' observations regarding employee interpersonal communication in the Pariaman city youth and sports education service which is still not well implemented. This study aims to obtain an overview and information about trust, empathy, openness, equality, and support between employees and leaders and employees with fellow employees in the Pariaman City youth and sports education department.This type of research is quantitative descriptive, this research is a population and population research that is all employees in the department of youth education and sports in the city of Pariaman, amounting to 40 people. The research instrument was a Likert scale model questionnaire with 5 (five) alternative answers, namely always (SL), often (SR), rarely (JR), and never (TP). Which has been submitted for testing the validity and reliability using the SPSS version 16.0 application. The results of this study indicate that interpersonal communication between employees and leaders is in the good category with an average score of 3.91 and interpersonal communication between employees and fellow employees is in the good category with an average score of 3.86. Overall, the interpersonal communication of employees in the Pariaman City youth and sports education department is in the good category with an average score of 3, 89
