Persepsi Siswa Tentang Iklim Sekolah di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Negeri (SMKN) 2 Pariaman

Abstract

The research was motivated by some problems found in school climate at SMKN 2 Pariaman. The aim of this study is to explore information about students’ perceptions of school climate at SMKN 2 Pariaman in terms of aspects 1) the dimensions of relationship, 2) the dimensions of system of change and improvement, 3) the dimensions of physical environment, 4) the dimensions of personal growth and development. The population of this study were SMKN 2 Pariaman students at grade XI and XII, which the total were 700 students. 114 students were taken using a sratified propotional random sampling technique. The instrument for data collection was a Likert scale model questionnaire with five answer choices. The result showed that students’ perceptions on 1) the dimensions of relationship with an average score of 4,10. Were in conducive category, 2) the dimensions of system change and development with an average score of 3,70 were in conducive category, 3) the dimensions of physical environment with an average score 3,85 were in the conducive category, 4) the dimensions of personal growth and development with an average score of 3,68 in the conducive category. Overall, the average score was 3,84 in the conducive category.
