Abstract


This study aims to obtain data and information regarding: 1) student motivation, 2) classroom climate and 3) The relationship of classroom climate with student learning motivation. This research is a correlational study that looks at the relationship between classroom climate and student learning motivation.

The population in this study were all class X students, amounting to 364 people. The sample in this study amounted to 86 people using the Slovin formula and was taken by proportional stratified random sampling technique. The research instrument used was a questionnaire using a Likert Scale model with five answer choices that had been tested for validity and reliability.

Data were analyzed using the product moment correlation formula. The results of data analysis showed 1) students' motivation in the category was quite high at 79,5%; 2) class climate is in the good category that is 82% and 3) there is a significant relationship between classroom climate and student learning motivation at SMK Negeri 4 Padang namely r count 0.48> r table 0.21 and t count value 5.01> t table 2,000 at 95% confidence level. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between classroom climate and student learning motivation at SMK Negeri 4 Padang.
