Abstract


This research is motivated by the writer's observation that there are still school administration personnel who have low social competence in the State Vocational High Schools in Padang.This study aims to obtain information about the social competence of school administration staff in Vocational High Schools throughout Padang, which are seen from aspects of adaptability to the environment, effective communication, ability to work in teams, have organizational awareness, and provide excellent service.This research is descriptive in nature with a population of all administrative staff as school administration staff in the 63 vocational high schools in Padang.The research instrument was a questionnaire with a Likert scale model, which had been tested for validity and reliability through trials on 20 respondents in the population but outside of the specified sample.Based on the results of the study showed that the social competence of school administration staff in Vocational High Schools in Padang City with an average score of 3.69 is in the able category.Based on these results the authors suggest that the social competence of school administration personnel be maintained and need to be improved further so that they can improve the social competency of school administration personnel in carrying out their duties.
