Focus and Scope

Jurnal Bahana Manajemen Pendidikan (JBMP) is a scientific journal in the field of Management and Education. This journal is published twice editions published a year. JBMP published by Educational Adminstration, Faculty of Educational Science at Padang State University  collaboration with Ikatan Sarjana Administrasi Pendidikan (ISMAPI) , in print and online with (ISSN: 2614-6576e-ISSN: 2614-6967 )

 

The aim of this journal is to publish articles dedicated to all aspects of the latest outstanding developments in the fields of educational management in all settings. The scope of this journal encompasses educational planning, educational management, educational supervision, human resource management, organizational communication, public relations, leadership, education, and teaching and learning.; Education (teaching, development, instruction, educational projects and innovations, learning methodologies and new technologies in education and learning, assessment). It was first published in 2013.

Papers published in the quarterly journal:
(1) evaluation reports and research findings;
(2) conceptual and methodological issues; and/or
(3) implications of the above for action; and/or
(4) an extensive book reviews section and also occasional reports on educational management concept.

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to this journal (Jurnal Bahana Manajemen Pendidikan) must follow Focus and Scope and Author Guidelines of this journal. The submitted manuscripts must fulfil scientific merit or novelty appropriate to the focus and scope of this journal.

All manuscrips submitted to this journal must be written in good English. Authors for whom English is not their native language are encouraged to have their paper checked before submission for grammar and clarity. We recommend that authors have their manuscripts checked by an English language native speaker before final approval of their submission; this will ensure that submissions are judged at peer review exclusively on academic merit. The work must not have been published or submitted for publication elsewhere.

All submitted manuscripts must be free from plagiarism contents. All authors are suggested to use plagiarism detection softaware to do the similarity checking (please use Turnitin or iThenticate to check the similarity). Editors will also check the similarity of manuscripts in this journal by using a Turnitin software.

The submitted manuscripts to this journal will be peer-reviewed at least 2 (two) or more expert reviewers from Peer-Reviewers Team. The reviewers give scientific valuable comments improving the contents of the manuscript. Sometimes (if required) a third peer-reviewer is needed to give critical comments to the submitted manuscript. The review process used in this journal is double blind review system.

Final decision of manuscript acceptance is solely made by Editor in Chief (together with Editorial Board if required for consideration) according to reviewers critical comments. The final decision of manuscript is solely based on the Editor and Editorial Board final review which considering peer-reviewers comments (but not solely by Reviewer).

Publication of accepted articles including the assigning the article to published issue will be made by Editor in Chief by considering sequence of accepted date and geographical distribution of authors as well as thematic issue.

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Author Guidelines

Preparation of manuscripts
Authors should carefully prepare their manuscripts in accordance with the following instructions: (1) All manuscripts should be prepared according to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association 6th ed. (American Psychological Association [APA], 2010); (2) Manuscripts should be as concise as possible, yet sufficiently detailed to permit adequate communication and critical review; (3) Consult the APA Publication Manual for specific guidelines regarding the format of the manuscript, abstract, citations and references, tables and figures, and other matters of editorial style, and; (4) Tables and figures should be used only when essential.

The type of manuscript
All of the types of manuscripts submitted must under this category and describe well-designed for (1) Research Article; or (2) Article/extensive book reviews/reports review/literature review/conceptual paper. They must inform and counseling and education in various settings.

Submit the manuscript
Before all of you submit the manuscript, please read carefully and following the information: (1) The manuscript was the result of your own works (original – not plagiarism) and never been published in another journal; (2) The article written in Bahasa and English. Title, abstract and Keywords clear written in English; (3) Manuscript file must be digital. We suggest for use software Microsoft Office (2010 or above) with extension document (.rtf, .doc, or .docx). -- hard copy submissions are not accepted, and; (4) Document format style: Manuscript type on A4 Margin Left: 2,54 cm, Top: 2.94 cm, Right: 2,54 cm, Bottom: 2.54 cm, header 0,75cm and footer 1,02 with different odd and event ; one column. Operating system Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7 Service Pack 1, Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2012, or Windows Server 2008 R2; for body text use one column; single line spacing -- before = 0 and after = 6; black color font, and; use only one space after each word periods. The structure of manuscripts

Recommendation software for managing citation and references
We suggest all of you using software MENDELEY, ZOTERO, or ENDNOTE for easily citation. References should be the most recent and pertinent literature available (about 5-10 years ago). Using literature (more than 10 years ago) maybe allowed at least 25% from total references who using in the manuscript.

Page limitations 
The full length of submission manuscript not more than 6000 words, or maximum 12 pages and minimum 4 pages; including references, table and figure (Appendix--Exclude).

Permission requirements
Lengthy quotations (generally 400 cumulative words or more from one source) require written permission from the copyright holder for reproduction. Previously published tables or figures that are used in their entirety, in part, or adapted also require written permission from the copyright holder for reproduction. It is the author’s responsibility to secure such permission, and a copy of the publisher’s written permission must be provided to the Editor immediately upon acceptance for publication.

Publication Ethics of JBMP

This statement clarifies the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the act of publishing an article in our journals, including the authors, the editors, the peer-reviewers and the publisher of UNP. This statement is based on COPE’s Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.


Ethical JBMP for Journal Publication

The publication of an article in a peer-reviewed JBMP Journal is an essential building block in the development of a coherent and respected network of knowledge. It is a direct reflection of the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them. Peer-reviewed articles support and embody the scientific method. It is therefore important to agree upon the standards of expected ethical behavior for all parties involved in the act of publishing: the authors, the journal editors, the peer reviewers, the publishers and the society.

Educational Administration Department as the publisher of this Journal takes its duties of guardianship over all stages of publishing extremely seriously and we recognize our ethical and other responsibilities. We are committed to ensuring that advertising, reprinting or other commercial revenue has no impact or influence on editorial decisions. In addition, the Educational Administration Department and Editorial Board will assist in communications with other journals and / or publishers where this is useful and necessary.


Publication decisions

The editors of the JBMP Journal are responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal should be published. The validation of the work in question and its importance to researchers and readers must always drive such decisions. The editors may be guided by the policies of the journal's editorial board and constrained by such legal requirements as shall then be in force regarding libel, copyright infringement and plagiarism. The editors may confer with other editors or reviewers in making this decision.


Fair play

An editor at any time evaluates manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.


Confidentiality

The editor and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.


Disclosure and conflicts of interest

Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor's own research without the express written consent of the author.

 

Duties of Reviewers


Contribution to Editorial Decisions

Peer review assists the editor in making editorial decisions and through the editorial communications with the author may also assist the author in improving the paper.


Promptness

Any selected referee who feels unqualified to review the research reported in a manuscript or knows that its prompt review will be impossible should notify the editor and excuse himself from the review process.


Confidentiality

Any manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be shown to or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.


Standards of Objectivity

Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Referees should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.


Acknowledgment of Sources

Reviewers should identify relevant published work that hasn't been cited by the authors. Any statement that an observation, derivation, or argument has been reported should be accompanied by the relevant citation. A reviewer should also call to the editor's attention any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscripts under consideration and any other published papers of which they have personal knowledge.


Disclosure and Conflict of Interest

Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers.

 

Duties of Authors


Reporting standards

Authors of reports from original research should present an accurate account of the work performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance. Underlying data should be represented accurately in the paper. A paper should contain sufficient details and references to permit others to replicate the work. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior and are unacceptable.


Data Access and Retention

Authors are asked to provide raw data in connection with a paper for editorial review, and should be prepared to provide public access to such data.

Journal History

Bahana Management Education Journal was first published in 2013, ISSN: 2614-6576 (Print), ISSN: 2614-6967 (Electronics) registered at ISSN LIPI on 17 January 2018. The first edition was published on 23 September 2012. Since the first publication, it has been changed several times in terms of journal management and policy
